PRESS RELEASE

Craigieburn Basketball Big V women's team are looking to build for 2009.

After winning the Premiership in Division 2 this year, and the departure or 2 Senior players, Tracy Tuesley (moved to SA) and  Brooke Davenports (Retirement), means the Craigieburn Eagles are looking to fill positions in the  Team as we move up to Division 1 in 2009.

Warren Taylor's late  decision to coach at a championship level also creates a Vacancy for a Division 1 Coach.

These are hurdles all clubs have to get over at sometime. Our women's team is training every Monday and Thursday under the supervision of fitness coach Brendan Ryan (Ex Nth Melb Footballer) and Dual Premiership Captain Kellie Bailey, the focus is on being fit, physically and mentally to take on Division 1 next season.

Club MVP Kylie Davies and all the other returning Premiership players are working exceptionally hard towards being prepared for 2009.

We have some exceptionally talented Junior players keen for positions in the team as well, some of these played in the Division 2 Premiership and want to take on Division 1 as much as the older group.

Brendan Ryan took charge of the preseason fitness training last year and this showed out in the finals campaign  as the ?Eagles' weren't given much chance to take the final but the girls had other ideas.

Coaches and Players move on or retire all the time that is part of basketball, but here at Craigieburn we have a dedicated group of players and officials ready to take us to the next level.

***************************************************************************

If you feel you could fill any of these positions as a Division 1 Player or Coach please contact

Kathy Bailey at Craigieburn Basketball Association
